Rhytidectomy (Facelift)
Discuss the facial areas that concern you and ask which changes a facelift can and cannot address.

What this procedure may address
A facelift addresses selected signs of facial aging by repositioning underlying tissues and managing excess skin. It may improve jowling and lower-face laxity. The neck may require a separate or combined plan, depending on the proposed technique.

YOUR QUESTIONS, ANSWERED
Is this suitable for me?
A surgeon reviews skin quality, facial structure, health, nicotine use, and expectations. A facelift does not stop aging or automatically correct eyelid concerns, skin pigmentation, or every fine line.
What should I expect during recovery?
Bruising, swelling, and temporary tightness can affect social plans during early healing. You will need instructions for incision care, activity, and follow-up. The appearance continues to settle beyond the initial recovery period.
What risks should I understand?
Risks include bleeding or hematoma, infection, poor healing, scarring, altered sensation, facial nerve injury, asymmetry, and anesthesia complications.
How much will it cost?
Veloré has not published pricing. Before committing, request an itemised estimate covering the procedure, any facility and anaesthesia fees, and follow-up care. Financing and memberships are not confirmed.

Recovery in everyday life
Bruising and swelling can outlast the point when you feel able to do light tasks. Temporary tightness, numbness or an uneven appearance may occur during healing. Ask about returning to desk work, lifting, exercise and travel separately. Plan follow-up locally if you normally live elsewhere; being able to travel is not the same as having completed recovery.
- Early healing: Arrange a ride and the help recommended for your operation. Follow instructions for wound care, medicines and gentle movement; feeling better does not mean the tissues are fully healed.
- As activity increases: Use follow-up to review the incision and agree on work and exercise. Driving requires safe movement and freedom from the effects of sedating medicines.
- Over the following months: Scars and remaining swelling may continue to change. Keep scheduled checks and ask about a result that is not progressing as expected.

Other options to discuss
Upper-lid hooding may lead to a discussion about eyelid surgery or brow position, not a larger facelift by default. Fat under the chin may need a different assessment from loose skin. Ask whether one procedure, staged treatment or no operation would best match your priorities. A combined plan deserves separate benefits and risks for each component.

Procedure FAQs
Does a facelift include the neck?
Not automatically. The extent varies. Ask whether the plan includes neck skin, deeper support or fat beneath the chin, and which concerns would remain. The written surgical plan should match that discussion.
Will I look like myself?
That should be part of the planning conversation, but no exact appearance can be guaranteed. Explain the changes you want to avoid and review relevant, verified examples with the surgeon. A photograph cannot promise your personal outcome.
What swelling needs prompt review?
Rapidly increasing swelling, especially on one side, worsening pain or new facial weakness should be reported promptly. A collection of blood may need urgent treatment. Use the team’s emergency instructions rather than waiting for the next scheduled appointment.

A THOUGHTFUL STARTING POINT
First, let’s understand you.
Describe whether your priority is jowling, lower-face laxity or changes around the neck. Ask which areas the proposed operation addresses and which concerns need separate assessment; a facelift does not treat every sign of aging.
